Biographical Sketch: Erik K Alexander is a physician and researcher at the Brigham & Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, both in Boston, MA. His recent focus has been on the development and validation of novel molecular markers for use in the evaluation of patients with thyroid nodular disease. Separate research has focused on the care of patients with thyroid illness during pregnancy. He serves as a member of the clinical guideline committees for both 'thyroid nodules and cancer' as well as 'thyroid illness during pregnancy', as a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Thyroid Association. Dr. Alexander is an active clinician, seeing over 40 patients per week, and also serves as the Director of Medical Student Education at the Brigham. He is a resident of Newton, MA, where he resides with his family.
