Biographical Sketch: Guy T'Sjoen, M.D., Ph.D. obtained his medical degree at the University Hospital Gent. Subsequently, from 1995 till 2000 he specialised into Internal Medicine and became a specialist in Endocrinology-Diabetology in 2001. He received the title of Clinical Andrologist by the European Academy of Andrology in 2002 (Malmö, Sweden).
He published on subjects of androgen deficiency, transsexualism, pituitary disease and disorders of sexual differentiation.
He is currently clinical staff member at the Department of Endocrinology, University Hospital Gent. He is coordinator of the Center for Sexology and Gender Problems at the Ghent University Hospital, Belgium. He is board member of the Belgian Endocrine Society. He is co-editor of the International Journal of Transgenderism, and The Belgian Journal of Sexology and wrote the book 'Transgendercare' (ACCO). He coordinates the endocrine part of ENIGI, the European Network on the Investigation of Gender Incongruence.
He is one of the promotors of SEXPERT, an interdisciplinary large scale investigation on sexual health in Flanders (collaboration of the Gender Team of the Ghent University Hospital, the dpts of Psychology and sociology at UGent, the dpt of Sexology KUL and SENSOA vzw).
