Timing is everything, and this adage holds true for metabolism, too. This session will examine the mechanisms by which the brain synchronizes control of bodily functions that impact metabolism, including circulating nutrient levels, energy homeostasis and sleep. Key mechanisms underlying these processes will be identified, as well as insights into pharmacological modulation of the metabolic clock and how it may be useful to treat obesity and diabetes.
