  • The Second International Multifaceted Calcium Sensing Receptor (CaSR) Symposium will be held March 3 – 4, 2015, at the Omni Hotel in San Diego prior to the Endocrine Society’s Annual Meeting & Expo, ENDO 2015. The two-day scientific symposium is sponsored by the Northern California Institute for Research and Education (NCIRE) and endorsed by the Endocrine Society.

The symposium brings together basic, translational, and clinical scientists from different disciplines who study the molecular biology, physiology, and pathophysiology of the CaSR and clinical disorders of CaSR function. The program features recent research on the role of the CaSR in skeletal development and physiology, vascular calcification, pulmonary function, neuronal injury, neuroendocrine control mechanisms, parathyroid physiology, mineral metabolism, exocrine and transport functions in the gut and kidney, and cancer cell signaling. Clinical uses of CaSR modulators to treat human disorders, evolutionary aspects of the CaSR, and interactions between the CaSR and vitamin D will be highlights.

The program includes lectures from keynote speakers, oral abstract presentations, poster discussions, and forums for young investigators to meet senior experts. Details on registration and full program are available at www.ncire.org/CaSRsymposium2015.
